Day 2: Omaha Beach and Caen

Abbey Road Modern Europe 2016 had a fine day: beautiful places, thought provoking history and delicious food! The first stop of the day- the Monument at Omaha Beach. From there we walked along the shore to the American Cemetery. Afterwards, we had a fine lunch and good conversation at a nearby crêperie. Then it was off the Caen Memorial whose informative exhibits allowed us to better understand the importance of the sites we had visited by placing them in a larger context. When we returned to Cabourg, we took some time to freshen up and then we enjoyed a wonderful meal at l'Olivier. But it may be better to let a few pictures tell some of the story:
